What you need to know about CIEEEN
Chartered Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineering of Nigeria
CIEEEN is the brand new Regulatory body in the Electrical/Electronic Engineering field of practice in Nigeria, established by Act No. 47, 2023, LFN, Chartered Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Nigeria, signed into law in April 2023.
CIEEEN is the first of its kind in the Engineering field in Nigeria.
All practitioners of Electrical/Electronic Engineering & allied practices MUST register with CIEEEN and be licensed. This also include. companies in that area of practice – Engineers, Technologists, Technicians and Craftsmen. It is now illegal to practice without the registration and is punishable by law.
CIEEEN-registered members will be the authentic professional personnel to practice EEE in Nigeria. All EEE projects and contracts must be handled by CIEEEN-registered personnel. Registered members have the opportunity (among many others) to be designated as Consultant, Expert, Senior Consultant etc, to indicate their level of expertise. This development will incentivise more job opportunities for registered members and expose quacks, giving them no hiding place anymore. It will also improve EEE services and offer clients better chance of hiring the right personnel.
